The Entire Bible in Five Hours Covers the history of both the Old and New Testament, including when each book was written, why it was written, and what it contains.  Students receive a simple, basic set of charts they will be able to use in future study of particular books in the Bible.

Basic Christian Theology Based on both traditional and current insights, this eight-hour course deals with what the Bible means by the term God, what it means to be a human being, what Jesus’ mission was and how in him we are reconciled to God, the function and purpose of the church, judgment day, time and eternity, life after death, worship and the sacra-ments.

The Augsburg Confession This basic document of Lutheran theology was written in 1530 by a lay theologian, Philip Melanchthon, and signed exclusively by laymen. In six 90-minute sessions, all 28 articles in the Augsburg Confession are examined in the light of what they meant in the time of the Reformation and what they mean today.

Daily Life in the Time of Jesus In four to six hours, life in Jesus’ time is examined, including how people lived, worked, played, treated illness, and practiced their faith. Special attention is given to how these facts are reflected in Jesus’ teaching.  Additional Courses

The Nativity Stories in Matthew and Luke

The Work of Particular Theologians

Lutheran Worship

Pastor Peterman is also eager to develop or adapt courses for specific congregational needs.

Format of the Courses:  The length of each course may vary. For instance, a course could be offered as a 1-2 hour class that meets over a series of days or weeks, or it could be a one-day seminar or weekend event.
Cost of the Courses:  The cost of a course depends on its length and the materials needed. However, when each registrant pays a modest fee, the cost can be met quite easily. Just imagine the positive effect on your congregation if even twenty members completed one of the courses listed above!
